Dr. Ryan Behrend, D.C.
Chiropractic care is a health care profession focused on the diagnosis and treatment of neuromuscular disorders associated with the spine and extremity joints. Chiropractic services are used most often to treat common musculoskeletal complaints, including but not limited to back pain, neck pain, pain in the joints of the arms or legs, and headaches.
also called spinal manipulative therapy or manual therapy, *combines moving and jolting joints, massage, exercise, and physical therapy*. It’s designed to relieve pressure on joints, reduce inflammation, and improve nerve function. It’s often used to treat back, neck, shoulder, and headache pain.
is a treatment performed by skilled, trained Chiropractic and medical providers, certified in the procedure*. A thin monofilament needle penetrates the skin and treats underlying muscular trigger points for the management of neuromusculoskeletal pain and movement impairments.
Electrical Stimulation Therapy
Is a technique that aims to stimulate the
muscles using an electrical current in order to achieve a specific result. Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS) involves delivering small, low-voltage electrical impulses to a muscle via electrodes placed on the skin, in order to cause the muscle to contract. This muscle contraction can have two, very different purposes: firstly, to relieve inflammation, and secondly, to
strengthen the muscle without involving the nervous system, which avoids
pain and fatigue.
Spinal Decompression Therapy
involves stretching the spine, using a traction table or similar motorized device, with the goal of relieving back pain and/or leg pain.
This procedure is called nonsurgical decompression therapy (as opposed to surgical spinal decompression, such as laminectomy and microdiscectomy).
